My last post was when Grady brought home his, bike. This post continues with what happened next. He knew when he bought the bike that it needed new tires. He researched it and determined that if he removed the wheels and took them to the garage, it would be $100 cheaper than if he took in the whole bike. With him not knowing anything about bikes, I wondered how he would go about removing the wheels, and more importantly replacing them. Turns out he had a plan, enlist 2 friends (who I may add, know even less about bikes than Grady) and a YouTube video. Of course, why didn't I think of that? Let's rely on a video posted by an anonymous twat on the internet. Grady was not fazed by this criticism and was determined to make it work.
The evening arrives and Gradys's friends turn up pumped for the endeavour. I handled this the way I handle most of Gradys antics, hiding in the basement, pretending it's not happening and humming a happy tune. By the time they figured out how to start it was getting dark and Grady was sporting a flashlight on his head. Things didn't quite go as planned as he kept having t race to Home Depot for a necessary tool. It was a few hours later that the wheels were finally off and his bike was propped up on logs outside the garage. He entered the room congratulating himself on having saved $100. I just had to ask, how much his numerous trips to Home Depot cost. Turns out it was $200. You've heard of "boy math", that was "Grady math"
