Well, it turns out that "They" lied!
........ Have to feel sorry for Sid. She had to have vaccinations at school today, but she was actually looking forward to it, because as she told me "5 minutes for the shot and then we get to rest for 15 minutes". I thought that was a bit excessive, but assumed her teacher was going easy on them. As she gaily skipped into school, eagerly anticipating her "rest", Grady muttered "She's gonna be in for a surprise". Yep, he was the asshole who spun her that yarn. I don't want to be in his shoes when she comes home tonight.
.......... Moral of the story "Don't mess with Sid". Preceding conversation goes like this; "Muuum, tell Sid she has to play Nerf war with me". This is from Grady. I explain to him that Sid doesn't have to play if she doesn't want to. Grady proceeds upstairs, cursing under his breath about his sister. These mutterings are suddenly cut short by a yell, followed by "Hells Bells. What did you do that for?" Sid's retort? "Well, you wanted a Nerf war, so you got one". That's right, she'd lain in wait for him and nailed him in the nether regions with a Nerf bullet. As only Sid can.
